The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) has been supporting young scholars to go to universities and other places as they prepare to be tomorrow’s leaders, in inception in 2002.

NSHSS was co-founded by Alfred Nobel’s nephew and inspired by the Nobel Prize’s mission to support academic achievement and world improvement. NSHSS pursues this mission by connecting members with scholarships, university exhibitions, internships, career and leadership opportunities, partner discounts, and more.

The NSHSS STEM Scholarship is to attend the high school program in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field, including any area related to the medical field. The purpose of the grant is to encourage the study of science, technology, engineering, mathematics.

Eligibility For The NSHSS Scholarship Program

Candidates in the areas of leadership, literature, academic excellence, entrepreneurship, music, medicine, STEM, sustainability, visual arts and more are qualified to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Award:

Participants receive cash awards ranging from $1,000

Application Requirements For The NSHSS Scholarship Program:

Write a motivation letter of 500 words discussing why you have selected your intended STEM major and your future career plans related to this major.

  • Resume (may be copied and pasted or uploaded)
  • Transcript (may be uploaded, mailed, or emailed)
  • Educator Recommendation (submitted via the online form; link provided in the application)
  • Principal and counselor’s name and email address
  • Color headshot suitable for website posting
